Your stay begins at San Basilio before moving to Riva dei Sette Martiri, an excellent base from which to explore the city. Around St Mark’s Square, magnificent St Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the Campanile provide an extraordinary backdrop, while the surrounding streets and squares come alive with the spirit of carnival. Masked visitors and richly detailed costumes create scenes that seem to bring the grandeur of the former Venetian Republic back to life.
