Douro Magic & Port Wine Delights

Douro Magic & Port Wine Delights

About This Cruise

From March to September, the Douro Valley reveals a wonderfully varied character. Your journey begins in Porto, where colourful façades, historic neighbourhoods and famous bridges create an impressive riverside setting. Before long, the scenery becomes quieter and more rural as terraced hillsides, vineyards and small villages accompany you deeper into the Douro Valley.

Around Folgosa and Pocinho, the region displays some of its most beautiful landscapes. Depending on the month of travel, fresh spring greens, warm summer tones and the golden hues of late summer give the valley a different appearance. At Vega Terrón, close to the Spanish border, wide landscapes and a relaxed atmosphere define the upper reaches of the Douro.

Another highlight is Pinhão, surrounded by the famous vineyards that shape the identity of the region. Rolling hills and traditional wine estates give this part of the valley its unmistakable character. Régua is equally closely linked to the centuries-old wine culture that has developed along the river.

On the return journey towards Porto, enjoy ever-changing views of steep riverbanks, vineyards and peaceful stretches of water. This cruise brings together striking scenery, Portuguese culture and relaxing time on board for an especially enjoyable journey through the Douro Valley.
