About This Cruise

This eight-day journey travels from Cremona through the broad landscapes of the Po to the Venetian Lagoon, concluding with an extended stay in Venice. The route combines historic cities, small riverside communities and peaceful islands, offering a varied introduction to northern Italy.

The journey begins in Cremona in Lombardy. This elegant city is internationally renowned for its centuries-old tradition of violin making and its close association with Antonio Stradivari. Around Piazza del Comune, the cathedral, baptistery and imposing Torrazzo form a remarkable historic ensemble. From here, the route continues to Boretto, where the Po and the broad plains of Emilia-Romagna dominate the landscape. The region is shaped not only by the river but also by a rich culinary culture.

The journey continues to Revere and then via Santa Maria Maddalena to Polesella. Along this stretch, northern Italy reveals a quieter and more rural side, with small communities, fertile plains and a slower rhythm far from the famous metropolitan centres. At Taglio di Po, the distinctive landscape of the Po Delta comes into focus. Waterways, fields and wide open spaces define this unusual environment where river and sea meet.

On Day 5, the scenery changes once again as the journey reaches the Venetian Lagoon. Mazzorbo offers gardens, vineyards and a peaceful island atmosphere. A footbridge connects it with neighbouring Burano, whose brightly coloured houses are among the lagoon’s most recognisable sights.

Finally, you arrive in Venice, where several days remain for your own discoveries.
