Between the Rhine and the Moselle, a journey rich in history, scenery, and enjoyment unfolds. The VIVA ONE will take you on a seven-night round-trip from and to Düsseldorf, visiting cities and towns that have preserved their own unique rhythms.

The itinerary, running from April through October 2028, offers beautiful experiences: from spring through summer into fall. Your journey of discovery begins in Koblenz, before Traben-Trarbach and Bernkastel bring the Moselle into the spotlight. Let your gaze wander over the hillsides and take time for a stroll through the streets. Trier brings Roman history to life, while Cochem and Treis-Karden reveal further facets of the region. Back on the Rhine, Rüdesheim awaits you. The journey then continues past the Loreley to Königswinter, where the ship will stay overnight. By the seventh day, you’ll reach Düsseldorf and spend your final night on board in the city. The excursion program offers everything from a city tour of Koblenz to exploring Roman ruins in Trier and a trip to the Siebengebirge. In between, enjoy meals and drinks with VIVA All-Inclusive, reflect on your experiences, or take in the scenery from the ship. Düsseldorf

The Rhineland way of life, blending tradition and modernity—Düsseldorf captivates with its diversity! Art and culture lovers are just as enthralled here as shopping enthusiasts; the Media Harbor impresses with its contemporary architecture, as does the historic Old Town. With more than 250 cozy pubs, the Old Town makes Düsseldorf the “longest bar in the world.” And it’s not just the traditional Altbier that tastes great there! Don’t miss a stroll down Königsallee, the world-famous shopping boulevard—or perhaps you’d prefer a visit to one of the many charming flea markets? And right in the middle of it all: plenty of green space and the Rhine with its riverside promenade, perfect for taking a deep breath. No wonder the VIVA family feels right at home here!

Koblenz

Koblenz captivates visitors with its unique location at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. The first stop on any visit to the city should therefore be the so-called “Deutsches Eck” with its imposing Kaiser Wilhelm Monument. Since 2002, it has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Upper Middle Rhine Valley.” A visit to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress offers a beautiful view of Koblenz and its two rivers. Perched 120 meters above the Rhine, this 16th-century fortification is the second-largest surviving fortress in Europe. Even the ride up in a cable car gondola is spectacular.

Traben-Trarbach

The small wine-growing town of Traben-Trarbach is situated right on the Moselle in a beautiful valley. Surrounded by numerous vineyards, it is one of the most beautiful places in the region—romantic, quaint, and modern. In addition to wine tastings and a boat ride on the Moselle, you can take a hike to Grevenburg, a ruin high up on the mountain, and the Buddha Museum should also be on your itinerary. A medieval market square graces the center of the small town, and the Brückentor gate is another of its historic landmarks.

Trier

Trier impresses with its Roman-era structures—most notably the well-preserved Porta Nigra. But the city’s churches are also worth visiting. Germany’s oldest city was founded by the Romans around 16 B.C. under Emperor Augustus. Charlemagne made the city an archbishopric. In hardly any other German city are the remnants of the Romans as abundant as they are in Trier. You can even drink them in the form of wine. The vineyards on the slopes of the Moselle and Saar valleys look back on 2,000 years of history.

Cochem

Cochem is Germany’s smallest county seat and is located in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Cochem lies on the Moselle River and is famous for its winegrowing. The town offers a picturesque view of the vineyards. Even from a distance, the Reichsburg Castle is clearly visible and serves as the town’s landmark. The town is popular not only with bowling clubs and families. The cobblestone-paved old town offers a pleasant stroll and invites visitors to linger by the fountain.

Rüdesheim

The picturesque town of Rüdesheim is located right on the Rhine in Hesse and boasts numerous attractions, such as the famous Drosselgasse, which is lined with wine bars, as well as a castle and a torture museum that displays medieval instruments of torture and tells the history of the Inquisition. A cable car takes you up to the Niederwald Monument, which is located above the town. From here, you can take a beautiful hike through pristine forest areas and then reach the chairlift that leads directly to Assmannshausen. This town is also located on the Rhine.

Königswinter

Located on the eastern bank of the Rhine, the city of Königswinter is in North Rhine-Westphalia. Numerous historic landmarks and museums worth seeing make a visit to the city an unforgettable experience. For example, the Siebengebirge Museum provides in-depth information about the legendary mountain landscape, which is, after all, Germany’s oldest nature reserve. At Sea Life, visitors can experience the underwater world up close, and the Nibelungenhalle is not only an architectural masterpiece but also home to a reptile zoo. Drachenburg Castle sits high atop the Drachenfels and is one of Königswinter’s landmarks. The imposing structure resembles a fairy-tale castle and offers a breathtaking view of the region.
