Seine Moments from Paris

Seine Moments from Paris

About This Cruise

Paris and the Seine provide a magnificent setting for a river cruise combining French joie de vivre, beautiful scenery and centuries of fascinating history. Your journey begins in Paris, one of the world’s most celebrated capitals and a city whose elegant architecture, grand boulevards and iconic landmarks create an unforgettable atmosphere. As your ship leaves the metropolis behind, the Seine reveals an entirely different side of France. Travelling at a leisurely pace, you can watch the scenery change as the river winds through peaceful countryside and towards the historic landscapes of Normandy.

One of the highlights along the way is Les Andelys, a picturesque town framed by green riverbanks and dramatic chalk cliffs. High above the Seine stand the impressive ruins of Château Gaillard, the medieval fortress associated with Richard the Lionheart and a striking reminder of the region’s eventful past. Continuing along the river, you arrive in Rouen, the historic capital of Normandy. Its old town is characterised by half-timbered houses, atmospheric lanes and remarkable churches. The magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral dominates the skyline, while the story of Joan of Arc adds another fascinating chapter to Rouen’s rich heritage.

On the return journey towards Paris, your ship calls at Conflans, situated at the confluence of the Oise and the Seine. For centuries, the town has been closely linked to inland navigation, a tradition that still gives its waterfront a distinctive character. From here, the Seine leads you back to Paris, where the final part of the cruise offers another opportunity to enjoy the incomparable atmosphere of the French capital. Historic monuments, elegant neighbourhoods, inviting cafés and the ever-present Seine make a fitting finale to your journey. Over six memorable days, this cruise brings together the sophistication of Paris, the heritage of Normandy and the tranquil beauty of the Seine Valley, allowing you to experience some of northern France’s most captivating destinations from the comfort of your river ship.

Itinerary

France

Paris

To this day, Paris remains perhaps the most sought-after destination for travelers from all over the world. And quite rightly so, since no other city in the world so perfectly embodies love, seduction, art, culture, and cuisine. Paris is the city of life’s finer things. It all starts with the beauty of the French capital itself, which is best experienced from the observation decks of the Eiffel Tower or the hill of Montmartre. The city on the Seine offers so many beautiful views that it’s hard to decide which direction to point your camera first. But even up close, the city’s landmarks are hard to beat in terms of beauty. The ornate Notre-Dame Cathedral; the imposing Arc de Triomphe; the sprawling Louvre; the magnificent Jardin des Tuileries; the opulent Opéra Garnier; and the impressive Place de la Concorde are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the sights you can marvel at in Paris.

France

Les Andelys

Les Andelys is a municipality in France located in the Normandy region. The town is divided into a larger and a smaller part (Le Petit Andely and Le Grand Andely). The smaller part lies directly on the Seine. The region’s northern character is also reflected in the town’s architecture. This is evident, for example, in the 13th-century Notre-Dame Cathedral. The Tolysland amusement park is popular with visitors of all ages.

France

Rouen

The city of Rouen is the historic capital of Normandy and is best known for Joan of Arc. In the museum "Joan of Arc" you can find an insight into her life and her tragic death in Rouen. Also worth seeing are the botanical garden, the cathedral "Notre Dame" and the monastery "Saint-Georges de Boscherville". Very popular is also a visit to the clock tower in the charming downtown area of the town.

France

Conflans-Sainte-Honorine

Conflans-Sainte-Honorine is a charming town in the Île-de-France region, about 25 kilometers northwest of Paris. It is picturesquely situated at the confluence of the Oise and the Seine rivers and is a popular stop on river cruises. The town has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages and is known for its traditions in inland waterway shipping; it is also an ideal starting point for excursions to one of the world’s most famous palaces: the Palace of Versailles.Other attractions in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine include the Maritime Museum, which highlights the history and importance of shipping to the city, as well as the 11th-century Church of Saint-Maclou. Picturesque riverside promenades and charming cafés invite you to linger. The annual Pardon National de la Batellerie, a festival honoring riverboat captains, attracts numerous visitors and lends the town a special atmosphere.Conflans-Sainte-Honorine offers a delightful blend of historic charm and vibrant culture, making a visit an unforgettable experience.
