The following day, the journey continues to Chioggia at the southern edge of the lagoon. This historic fishing town is characterised by canals, bridges, old buildings and a strong maritime identity. The longer stay gives you plenty of time to discover its authentic character and enjoy a more relaxed side of lagoon life.

On 31 December, you return to Venice just in time for the highlight of the journey. Staying near Riva dei Sette Martiri places you close to the historic centre and its famous landmarks. St Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace, St Mark’s Basilica and the illuminated streets create a remarkable setting for the final evening of the year. As midnight approaches, Venice takes on a particularly magical atmosphere, with reflections on the canals, historic façades and the glow of the city lights all adding to the occasion.
