Your stay begins in the San Basilio area before moving to Riva dei Sette Martiri on the first evening. From here, Venice’s historic heart invites exploration. Around St Mark’s Square, some of Italy’s most celebrated landmarks await: the magnificent St Mark’s Basilica, the imposing Doge’s Palace and the Campanile recall the centuries when the Venetian Republic was one of Europe’s great maritime and trading powers. Nearby, the famous Bridge of Sighs spans one of the city’s many waterways.

Yet much of Venice’s true magic can be found away from its most famous squares. Follow narrow lanes and small bridges, discover hidden courtyards and pause in lively squares where everyday Venetian life continues around you. A vaporetto ride provides constantly changing views of churches, palaces and life along the Grand Canal. The iconic Rialto Bridge and traditional Rialto Market offer another glimpse into the character and history of the city.

With several days in Venice, there is no need to rush. Enjoy an espresso on a picturesque square, sample Venetian cicchetti in a traditional bacaro or simply wander along the waterfront as evening approaches. Art lovers will find outstanding museums, galleries and churches filled with remarkable works, while Venice’s extraordinary architecture makes the entire city feel like an open-air museum.

On Day 3, the ship returns to San Basilio, where the final day is also spent.
