In addition to thirteen UNESCO World Heritage Sites, more than 50 Baroque works by Rubens in various museums are a stunning sight to behold.

Nijmegen

The oldest city in the Netherlands exudes traditional Dutch charm with its gabled cottages, small cheese shops, and delicacies on the “Grote Markt.” In the narrow alleys, the past and present go hand in hand. That’s why a visit to the Gothic St. Stevenskerk, including its crypt, as well as a stroll down the shopping street “Lange Hezelstraat,” should be on your sightseeing itinerary. Afterward, there’s no better way to take a break than with some freshly fried kibbelingen in Kronenburgerpark during the winter months.

Cologne is a city with independent municipal status in North Rhine-Westphalia and is one of the few cities in the Federal Republic of Germany with a population of over one million. Cologne Cathedral is the city’s landmark, located directly on the banks of the Rhine and next to the main train station. A cable car crosses the Rhine, offering a fantastic view of the city.
